Why have an IEP reviewed? As someone who has reviewed hundreds of IEPs, I find that most IEPs miss entire areas of child's needs. This means that your child is not learning skills that are critical for their academic and social progress. 

 

Additionally, I often find that schools overlook evaluating important skills in their evaluations, or misinterpret their evaluations. This means that your child is falling behind academically or socially, without being supported, because those areas of difficulty are not on the school radar.

What types of recommendations do you make? Based on an IEP review, I provide recommendations for

• additional accommodations,

• additional goal areas,

• modifying existing goals to teach skills that actually matter,

• how to make goals neuroaffirming,

• how to modify goals to ensure that progress monitoring can happen

• how to reduce or prevent behavioral challenges

• additional areas of concern that need to be evaluated

• additional services or approaches/methodologies

• ideas for tracking progress

What happens after the review? After the review, you can request a team meeting to discuss your concerns with the team. I will prepare you for the meeting, and am also available to attend with you (for a separate fee).  Your child's school experience and their progress can improve dramatically.

What is the cost of the review?

The cost is $600, which includes one hour feedback session.

This does not include written recommendations or letters, which are available for a separate fee.
