I don't know where it came from, but every time I come across this photo, I appreciate it all over again. It works on so many levels. Parents of children with special needs are experts in understatement and no drama approach. At some point, I think that there is a bit of loss of realization of just how challenging and trying an average day can be. There has to be, or it would not be possible to get through that day. At the same time, there is the ability to see a silver lining in just about any situation. This picture nails all that -- the toughness, the daily hard work, and the optimism. I wish I knew who came up with it.
